It's interesting to me that a lot of console racing games have rubbish car sounds as well, it's very hard to capture well.
As to the car sounds being fake, so what? It's not as if the cars are real anyways, anyone bought a blind demon or a Speed Ace from your local showroom? The sounds are similar to arcade races of yore, don't concern yourself with it.

Look, you have a good amount of tracks, some nice environmental sounds to boot, it's affordable plus it'll be updated with new features. For a version 1 game, Rally Racing is very good.
These developers are not console game developers, indeed even console games aren't always value for money. It's a little concerning to me the degree of whining that occurs whenever one of these audio games is released. Lets wait for the versions that come out in the future and we'll see how it goes. So, great game but at this point I wouldn't buy it and I wouldn't pay what these guys are charging for it at least not yet. My ears just haven't been trained to listen for these things. I didn't hear any audio degredation, clipping or anything else the audioffiles in the blind community seem to hate. As for the voice in the game, it didn't bother me much. if they could improve on the car sounds it'd make things much more realistic. Most racing games I'm familiar with have some kind of steering wheel or other controller associated with it, but of course these guys probably couldn't program that into the game. a great idea but not quite ready for prime time. To me, this game is kind of like some other things. The top rated games you can find here are Life is Strange 2 SteamPeek Rating: 8.6 ranked 6, MURDERED: SOUL SUSPECT SteamPeek Rating: 7.9 ranked 12 and Batman. I'm thinking these guys are probably working on a shoestring budget, which would explain the fake car sounds. The top results based on the latest update are KOEWOTAYORINI / Score: 60.6, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments Score: 58.7 and The Deed II Score: 57.0.
I heard the podcast and I absolutely love the idea of the game, you do get loads of options.
